Karen A. Rhoades, 56, of Wonder Lake, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at her home in Wonder Lake.
She was born March 21, 1951 in Milwaukee to Raymond and Kathleen (Kelly) O’Donnell.
Formerly of Milwaukee, she worked in the Linen Department at Aurora Healthcare for over 20 years. She moved to Woodstock, where she lived for six years and worked as a manager of the Shop “N” Save in Woodstock. She moved to Wonder Lake to live with her daughter five months ago.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and will be remembered as a strong and independent woman.
She is survived by a daughter, Christina (Michael) Aberle of Wonder Lake; and a son, Victor (Jill Rader) O’Donnell of Algoma, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Kayla and John; a sister, Susan (Rudy) Roth of Philip, South Dakota; and two brothers, Patrick (Bettie) O’Donnell of Tucson, AZ, and Robert O’Donnell of Bellflower, CA; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jerry and Dennis O’Donnell, and Daniel O’Donnell in infancy; a brother-in-law, Rudy Lamm in 1986; and her nephew, Robert Lamm in 1982.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007 at Justen’s Wonder Lake Funeral Home, 7611 W. Hancock Drive, Wonder Lake, IL 60097.
Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Nativity Lutheran Church, 3506 East Wonder Lake Rd., Wonder Lake with the Rev. Rebecca Gordon officiating.
Interment will be private.
