Kathleen A. Kowall, age 61, of McHenry, lost her battle with breast cancer on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry.
She was born February 21, 1945 in Chicago to Patrick and Nancy (Bracken) Hughes. Formerly of Chicago, Kathleen had lived in McHenry for over twenty years.
She was employed as a machine operator for Dana Corp. (Formerly Brake Parts).
She enjoyed word searches, collecting coffee mugs, and watching the Lifetime Channel. She was a doting grandmother to all her grandchildren, and enjoyed the companionship of her dog Thunder.
Survivors include five children, Irene Bole of McHenry, Gregory (Theresa) Mulick of Woodstock, Bryan (Donna) Mulick of McHenry, Vincent (Sarah Ruffolo) Kowall of McHenry, Shawn (Shannon Halstead) Kowall of McHenry; eight grandchildren, David, Stacy, Shannon, Tyler, Trevor, Heather, Haley, Hannah; four great grandchildren, Damien, Dylan, Matthew, Ryan; three brothers, Patrick (Diane) Hughes of Springfield, Frank Hughes of Oglesby, and Dennis Hughes of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bill and Mick.
The visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry, IL.
The funeral Blessing will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, at the funeral home. The Rev. Joseph P. Naill will officiate.
