Kevin L. Rodgers, age 56, of Wonder Lake, died Monday, November 10, 2014, at Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora.
He was born March 13, 1958 in Chicago to Frank P. Sr. and Diane L. (Pierpaoli) Rodgers. Raised in Wonder Lake, Kevin attended Harrison School in Wonder Lake followed by Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock.
He was a fireman and paramedic with the Wonder Lake Fire Department, and was employed by A-Tec Ambulance. Kevin loved horses, and enjoyed taking care of his horses at Happy Trails stable. He also worked there part-time in and around the stable, where he was also a trail guide. Above all, he adored his sons and was dedicated to his entire family.
Kevin is survived by two sons, Kevin (Jenifer) Rodgers and Tony (Jillian) Rodgers; four grandchildren, Aiden, Emma, Alexis, and Samantha; his mother and father, Frank Sr. & Diane Rodgers; and his siblings, Frank Jr. (Jennifer Bazan) Rodgers, Jetta Rodgers, and Louis M. Rodgers.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. A fireman’s walk-through will take place at 6:30 pm.
Visitation will resume Saturday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., before leaving for the 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church, Wonder Lake. Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Wonder Lake.
