Leonard August Potempa, born August 8, 1947, died May 16, 2021, lived in Fox Lake, Illinois, left this world after suffering over four years from ALS.
Leonard grew up in a hardworking family in Chicago. He ran a family business, Belmont Cabinet Company. He was married to his high school sweetheart Janice Jakubowski for 51 years. Len was dedicated to the well-being of his family raising four successful children. Len was the ultimate handyman. He worked all his life in word working and motors, including building his very own race boat The Mango Masher.
Leonard Potempa is survived by his wife Janice Potempa, four children, Sheila (Marcelino), Paul, Brian (Stephanie), and Janiese (Greg) and five grandchildren, Xavier, Carlee, Trinity, Julianna, and Faith.
Visitation at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, Illinois on May 19, at 12:00pm – 2:00pm Following the visitation, a private burial service for family only will be held. A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
