Linda L. Glover, age 62, of Island Lake, died Monday, November 22, 2010 at Centegra Hospital – McHenry.
She was born February 23, 1948 in Chicago to Edward and Helen (Gawlowski) Gallas.
Linda was recognized for being the first women postal carrier in McHenry County while working thru college. Linda then earned her Bachelor Degree from Elmhurst College and her Master’s Degree from Rosary College. She taught English at Army Trail High School in Addison and then dedicated over 25 years as a Librarian at Harper College retiring in 2007.
Formerly of Schaumburg, Linda had lived in Island Lake for the past five years She was a doting grandmother to Ella Lee and a proud aunt to Baylor. She was an avid reader and had a passion for baking cakes for family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Kristin Glover of Island Lake; a granddaughter, Ella Lee Glover-Taylor; three sisters, Joan (Joseph) Passanante of California, Phyllis (George) Pugh of Leesburg, FL, Judy Gallas of Woodstock; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward (Patricia) Gallas Jr.; and a sister, Marlene Lundborg.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2010 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL. 60050.
There will be a celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, in the Chapel of Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid Ave, Arlington Heights, IL.
