Linda M. McShea, age 70, of McHenry, died Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Centegra Hospital surrounded by her loving husband and children.
She was born May 6, 1944 in Chicago to Matthew and Ida (Martinek) Hendle. On November 11, 1961, Linda married Eugene McShea in Addison.
A resident of the Whispering Oaks subdivision in McHenry for the past six years, Linda previously lived in Crystal Lake for 40 years.
Linda will be remembered as an accomplished cook. She blessed her family with numerous specialty dishes throughout the years, and taught her husband how to make several items. An avid reader, Linda was a friendly and kind person, one of the nicest people you could meet. During her illness, Linda had her little stuffed puppy constantly by her side, bringing her great comfort. Her endless appreciation to Gene and her children for never leaving her side and for all of their tender love and care during her illness was unsurpassed. She especially enjoyed when the kids would stop to visit and spend countless moments reminiscing.
She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Gene; two sons, Robert McShea and Michael McShea; and two daughters, Kelly McShea and Jean Marie (Paul) Wagner; and her father, Matthew Hendle.
She was preceded in death by her mother; a son, Daniel; and a brother, Matthew.
The cremation rite will be accorded privately, and arrangements were entrusted to Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
Her family is planning to have a private gathering of family and close friends to celebrate Linda’s life. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests a memorial in Linda’s name to the American Cancer Society.
