Lois Mae Ryan, (nee Lynn) went home to be with her Lord on December 18, 2021 following a short illness.
Lois is survived by her three daughters; Debra (Wes) McReynolds of McHenry, Brenda (Dan) Jacobs of Flower Mound, Texas, and Judy (Bill) Sizemore of Lewisville, Texas; her five grandchildren; Marissa, Nicole, Ryan, Jared and Joshua (Jamie) and her precious great-granddaughter, Emelia; her sisters, Marion Anderson and Gertrude Randall, and her nephew Jim (Leanne) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerry.
Lois was born in Chicago on January 30, 1934 and lived in the Chicago area her whole life spreading the love of Jesus to all she encountered. Her faith in her Lord was the center of her world along with her family.
Lois was a founding member of Jubilee Lutheran Church in Johnsburg and she loved her church family. She was a member of Lake Region Sports Car Club for many years where she took pride in her many victories and awards in both men’s and women’s classes. Lois was Sunday School Superintendent at Zion Lutheran Church in McHenry for over 25 years, a member of the Stevens Ministry Group, a Chaplain at the hospital and jail, and leader and participant of innumerable Bible Study groups where she led many to the Lord.
Lois was a life-long learner and a Biblical scholar. She loved to learn about Bible history and geography. She was a teacher to the teachers. One of her greatest joys was to visit the Holy Land and walk where Jesus walked.
She lived her life honoring Christ and left a legacy of faith, hope and love that lives on in all of us.
A visitation will be on January 23, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm with a memorial service starting at 4:00 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Rd, McHenry IL 60050.
