Manuel Hurtado Cortez, age 71, of Round Lake, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020. He was born August 27, 1948 in Mexico to Rosalio Hurtado and Juana Cortez.  He married Susana Silva Vargas on May 7, 1977. Survivors include his wife, Susana; three children, Cindy (Edwin) Figueroa, Nancy (Ryan) Wilson and Michael (Anelly Melgoza) Hurtado; and five grandchildren, Jorge Hurtado, Ryan Wilson Jr., Susana Wilson, Sophia Wilson, and Alessandro Hurtado. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister. Manuel came to the United States to provide a better life for his family. Supporting his children came first until the end. He felt honored because he managed to see all his children graduate with college degrees. He was proud that his daughter, Nancy, and his grandson, Jorge, graduated with a Master’s Degree. He was Michael’s number one fan and trainer supporting Michael’s childhood dream of playing professional soccer. He was thrilled when Michael became a semi-professional soccer player in Mexico. He was a big influencer in Cindy’s development of a massively compassionate heart. His passion was his grandchildren and his greatest joy was to share unforgettable experiences with each of them. He would not skip a beat to spend time with his family. Since his passing, we have been reminded by family and friends how much of a great son, husband, father, grandfather and a role model he was. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions Visitation for his IMMEDIATE family will be Thursday, April 16, 2020 between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073. Others may join the family virtually through a live web stream (link below). Manuel Hurtado Cortez, de 71 años, de Round Lake, falleció el viernes 10 de abril de 2020.  Nació el 27 de agosto de 1948 en México, hijo de Rosalio Hurtado y Juana Cortez. Se casó con Susana Silva Vargas el 7 de mayo de 1977. Los sobrevivientes incluyen a su esposa, Susana; tres hijos, Cindy (Edwin) Figueroa, Nancy (Ryan) Wilson y Michael (Anelly Melgoza) Hurtado; y cinco nietos, Jorge Hurtado, Ryan Wilson Jr., Susana Wilson, Sophia Wilson y Alessandro Hurtado. Fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres y hermana. Manuel vino a los Estados Unidos para proporcionar una vida mejor a su familia. Apoyar a sus hijos vino primero hasta el final. Fue honrado porque logró ver a sus hijos graduarse con títulos universitarios. Estaba orgulloso de que su hija, Nancy, y su nieto, Jorge, se graduaran con una maestría. Era el fanático y entrenador número uno de Michael, apoyando el sueño de Michael de jugar fútbol profesional. Su pasión eran sus nietos y su mayor alegría era compartir experiencias inolvidables con cada uno de ellos. No se saltaría un momento para pasar tiempo con su familia. Desde su fallecimiento, familiares y amigos nos han recordado cuánto fue un gran hijo, esposo, padre, abuelo y un modelo a seguir.
