Margaret Mary Silk, age 92, of McHenry, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Crystal Pines Health Care Center in Crystal Lake.
She was born February 9, 1922 to John and Josephine (Clement) Storck. Margaret was born and raised in Racine, WI. Before moving to McHenry, she also lived in Evanston and DesPlaines. For the majority of her lifetime, she was a homemaker. Margaret also was employed part-time as a waitress at Long Horn Steakhouse and Moose Lodge #691 in McHenry. During her leisure time, Margaret enjoyed playing bingo, baking, canning, and cooking.
Survivors include five children, Ron (Arlette) Silk of Crystal Lake, Sandra (Roger) Nick of Venice, Florida, Patricia Plein of McHenry, Jacqueline (Joe Davids) McMahon of Fort Collins, CO, and Michael (Sue) Silk of McHenry; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Josephine Brost, Agnes Strommen, and Mitzi Zabrznski.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, in 1984; two sisters, Ann and Mary; and three brothers, Andrew, Joseph and August.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Church. Please meet at church.
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Johnsburg.
