Marie A. Drisner, age 95, most recently of McHenry, formerly of East Chicago, Indiana, died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Alden Terrrace of McHenry.
She was born June 3, 1917 in East Chicago, Indiana to Joseph and Amelia (Zombo) Jagadich. On November 21, 1935 she married Steven Drisner at Holy Trinity Hungarian Church in East Chicago.
A resident of East Chicago for 83 years she moved to McHenry twelve years ago. Graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Purdue University for Medicine. She was a seamstress at Lewinsky Department Store for most of her life.
Marie was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Sorority and the Rosary Society at Holy Trinity Hungarian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Donnell) Culley; three grandchildren, Gregory (Ronda) Swanson of McAllen, Kristopher (Andrea) Swanson of Austin, and Mark (Amanda) Drisner of Griffith, IN; four great-grandchildren, Simonne, Jaxon, Matthew and Carina Swanson; sister-in-law Irene Drisner of Bell, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband Steven; her parents; her son, Robert Drisner; and three brothers Joseph, John, and Steve.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on September 14, 2012 at Holy Trinity Hungarian Church.
Immediately following, inurnment of cremated remains at St. John’s Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana.
