Marion ‘Mimi’ Galluzzi, age 87, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Hearthstone Manor in Woodstock.
Marion was born May 29, 1924 in Chicago to William H. and Eva (Rittenberg) Marks.
Formerly of Chicago, Marion was a resident of McHenry for 45 years. Most recently, she lived at Hearthstone Manor in Woodstock.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and treasured time with her family. Her love of baking cookies will be fondly remembered by her family and friends. She made as many as 3000 cookies at the holidays, which she put in tins and distributed as gifts.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Roy) Doane of Lancaster, S.C., 8 grandchildren, Roy (Donna) Doane, Jamie (Linda) Doane, Christopher Doane, Lori Schwebke, Candi Bottcher, Bobbi (Jim) Bowles, Jenni Rode, Wendi Rode; 15 great grandchildren, Rebecca, Alexander, Peyton, Jacob, Nathan, Riley, Ethan, Sydney, TJ, Nicholas(Charity), Jimmy, Dezirae, Calvin, Chloe, Dalton; one niece and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Galluzzi; a nephew, Dennis C. Karmel; her parents; three sisters, Faith (Sol) Cohen, Pearle (Julius) Cohen, Isabelle (Fred) Karmel; and a brother, Lawrence (Babe) Marks.
