Mark Edwin Pfingsten, age 65, of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, passed away on September 28, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 15, 1954, to Edwin and Terry (Vollers) Pfingsten in Elmhurst, Illinois. On June 26, 1977, he was united in marriage to Jo Ann Rendak in Antioch, Illinois.
Mark is remembered by many for his sense of humor, ability to make others laugh by telling Dad jokes, and his sense of adventure. He enjoyed being outdoors and would often work in the garden growing interesting plants and vegetables. Door County was a special place for many camping vacations with the family. Mark was a beer connoisseur. He loved to play chef in the kitchen. He would make a wonderful “Sun Splash Salsa”. His talent for music was evident as he would sing, play the keyboard, and write songs. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.
Mark is survived by his mother Terry (Vollers) King; wife: Jo Ann (Rendak) Pfingsten; daughters: Deanna (Jorge) Jacobo, Tiffany (Matt) Siwula, Christina (Mario) Gonzalez; sisters: Lori Albright, Lisa (Don) Shannon; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father Edwin Pfingsten; grandparents; and aunts and uncles.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073 on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 1-2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
In accordance with public gathering restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a mask and observe social distancing. The funeral home staff will monitor capacity limits and allow up to 50 people in at a time.
