Martha C. Rossdeutcher, age 94, of Volo, died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry.
She was born August 21, 1913 in Fremont Township to Joseph F. and Margarette (Lanzing) Tekampe. In 1932 she married Herman Rossdeutcher.
Martha was a life long resident of Volo. She was employed at Admiral Corp. and later at Alcan for thirteen years before retiring in 1985.
She was a doting mother and loving grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and canning. Her specialty was making jams.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Rossdeutcher and Donald Rossdeutcher both of Volo; three grandsons, Thomas (Patti) O’Connor, Daniel O’Connor, Timothy O’Connor; five great grandchildren, Kevin, Tony, Brandi, Sarah, Patrick; a great great grandson, Aiden; a sister, Margaret Paddock of Wauconda; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman on Dec. 25, 1984; a daughter Louise O’Connor on Aug. 11, 2000; and a grandson Jimmy on Sept. 16, 1995; a son-in-law Thomas O’Connor on April 1, 2003; her parents and other siblings.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2008 at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry, IL. 60050.
The funeral Blessing will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 25, at the funeral home. The Rev. Dennis Kolinski, S.J.C. will officiate.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Round Lake.
