


Mary Ann Stockwell, age 88, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Centegra Hospital – McHenry. She was born to Walter and Agnes (Peve) Krepel on December 16, 1929 in McHenry, where she was raised on the family farm.
The center of Mary’s life was her family. She lovingly dedicated most of her life to raising her cherished children, caring for her pristine home, and tending to her beautiful garden. A member of St. John Lutheran Church in Island Lake for over 60 years, Mary also devoted time to serving the Lord. Her family will forever remember Mary’s kind demeanor and the love she had for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Cindy Heckert, Sally Tripp, Nancy (Michael) Elleman, Emma (Edward) Chappel, William (Lisa) Stockwell, and Carol Stockwell; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Michael Riezinger; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Stockwell; and her sisters, Martha (Late Robert) Hawkins and Elsie (Late Richard) Hawkins.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Riezinger; her son, Albert Stockwell; and her brothers, Leo Krepel and Al (late Aunt Kitty) Krepel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. Visitation will resume the following morning from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at St. John Lutheran Church 176 W State Road, Island Lake, IL 60042.
Interment will be at McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock.
