Mary Anne Nava, age 71, of McHenry, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Centegra Hospital – McHenry.
Mary Anne was born September 5, 1943 in Chicago to Donald and Ann (Viviano) Kuhn. A resident of McHenry for the past 6 years, Mary Anne formerly lived at Sun City for 5 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Huntley.
She and her late husband were the co-owners of Timing Gear, located in Elk Grove Village and subsequently St. Charles, until the business was sold in 1995. Mary Anne was active in the business, and served as bookkeeper and secretary.
Mary Anne was an animal lover throughout her lifetime. She was also very fond of dancing.
Survivors include her step-daughter, Margaret Nava; cousins, John (Sharon) Salemi, Chuck (Rose) Chiparo, Cathy Yafchak, and Marie Holland; two great cousins, John Jr. (Stephanie) Salemi and Tony (Amy) Salemi; two great-great cousins, Joseph and Christopher, and several other cousins; a step-sister, Joan (Tom) Etchingham; a step sister-in-law, Carol Kuhn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; a step-brother, Donald.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Friday, March 13, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. prayers, then proceeding to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in McHenry for the 11 a.m. funeral Mass.
Inurnment will be at a later date in River Valley Cemetery in West Dundee.
For those wishing to send an expression of condolence, her family asks that flowers be omitted, and suggests Masses in her memory or donations to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
