Back in the late 80’s and one of the first times I was at the house in McHenry, I was walking from the kitchen to the TV room and Bob yelled out “WIDE LOAD COMING THROUGH!!!!”. I was in high school and weighed no more than 110 lbs!!! I was mortified and pretty sure my face turned pale. Ma Wiles did her famous laugh/cackle, came over and put her arm around my shoulder. Her laugh turned to an ‘aw, sweetie, that just means he likes you’. That was them, that was her. Such a combo. A few years ago I was in Chicago and stopped by to see her. All she could talk about was how proud she was of her family. She ran through the accomplishments of each of her kids and grandkids for me with the biggest, proudest smile on her face. She still called me every year on my birthday with such sincerity in her voice. It hurts my heart to think about missing it this year. Cheryl McGarrity Quaine

I was blessed to have Ma Wiles as a 2nd Mom for all of the 80's..she opened her heart and her homes to me and treated me as one of her own. She watched me grow up along side her children and taught me many life lessons along the way. She taught me about forgiveness and unconditional love with her heart of Gold...My heart is full of love and so many cherished memories

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the death of your dear mom. We went through St. Mary's Grade School (where we were CHEERLEADERS!) and McHenry High School together and maintained our friendship all these years. I am so happy that we had a great visit last October. It is a great loss to all of us.
