Mary B. Williams, age 89, of McHenry, died Thursday, November 23, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock.
She was born April 11, 1917 in Chicago to Carmelo and Felicia (Giangrisso) Rizzo. On November 29, 1941, she married Norman Williams.
Formerly a longtime resident of Chicago, she moved to the southside from 1976-1986, and then to McHenry in 1986. She was a private secretary for a food purveyor on South Water Market before she became a crossing guard for the City of Chicago. She enjoyed a 20 year career as a crossing guard at Our Lady of the Angels Church.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Norman; five children, Patricia Tillett of McHenry, Robert (Gissella) Williams of Trinity, FL, Kathee Schrader of McHenry, Pamela (Louis) Orlando of Palatine, and Thomas (Sharon) Williams of Glendale Heights; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a brother, Michael (Eleanor) Rizzo of Schiller Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Sam and Barth Rizzo, and a sister, Phyllis Ramos.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm Street, McHenry. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at St. John the Baptist Church, Johnsburg. The Rev. Gerald Watt, C.R., will officiate. Interment will follow in a local cemetery.
