Mary Lou Broome, age 92, of Round Lake Beach, died Monday, February 5, 2007 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan.
She was born May 31, 1914 in Caser, North Carolina to Almond and Lila (Warlick) Ivester.
Mary was born and raised in North Carolina. She moved with her family to the Round Lake area in 1954. She will be remembered as a great homemaker and doting grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Theresa) Broome of Round Lake; three grandchildren, Rae Broome of Round Lake Park, Darryl (Mary) Broome of Round Lake, Dawn (John) Broome-Rozhon of Pleasant Prairie, WI.; four great grandchildren, Kyle Broome, Zachary Broome, Ashlyn Rozhon, Devynn Rozhon; four sisters, JoAnn of Texas, Ruth, Elaine and Jackie all of North Carolina; a brother Gene Ivester of Gurnee; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Broome in 1984; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court (at Cedar Lake Road ), Round Lake, IL.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 9, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville, IL.
