Michael Lee Young, age 61, of Fox Lake, died unexpectedly, Monday, January 23, 2017, at Centegra Hospital-McHenry. He was born August 22, 1955 in Clinton, IL, and was raised by Larry and Mary Hutton.
Michael proudly served in the US Army, as a member of the Hawk Fire Control Crew, while stationed in Germany. After the military he moved to Johnsburg, where he established Young’s Auto Repair in 1982, and relocated the business to McHenry in 1997. He enjoyed collecting guns, John Wayne, classic cars, and riding his Harley Davidson.
Michael is survived by his wife, Stephanie Armstrong; five children, Matthew Young, Amanda Young, Sean Michalski, Kassandra Michalski, Katrina (Chris Brecht) Michalski; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five siblings, Joyce, Robert Henry, Maryann, Donald, Irven; and his half-siblings, Kim and Paul.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother James.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. The celebration of life will be 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
The cremation rite will be accorded privately.
