Norman G. Denbroeder, age 88, passed away June 13, 2012 at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois in Barrington.
He was born October 9, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to Peter and Alwine Denbroeder. On February 26, 1944 he married Jane in San Francisco. Norm grew up in Detroit, Michigan moving to Toledo, Ohio and then to the Chicago area.
He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the South Pacific. Norman was employed as an electrical engineer and later became proprietor of Gerard Printing in Elk Grove.
Norm was a true family man and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed music, boating, playing bridge and golfing.
He is survived by his four children, Jan (Jim) Rice, Bob (Jan) Denbroeder, John (Debra) Denbroeder, Amy (Rich) Hein; grandchildren, Kelly (Todd) Cleaveland, Mike Belden, Kristen Hansen, Peter Denbroeder, Shannon Rice, Ian Denbroeder, Kevin Denbroeder, Briana (Danny) Pearson, Liz Hein, Michelle Rice, Joe (Aubrae) Rice; and great grandchildren, Amber, Amanda, Alex, Nicole, Ashley, Mike, Kaylee, Haillie, Nicholas, Lauren and Brittany.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jane; and his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Evangelical Lutheran Church of All Saints, 5800 State Park Road, Fox Lake, IL 60020.
Inurnment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
