Our family has had to say goodbye to a lady who was as beautiful inside as she was outside.
Odra Elaine Morrison, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2020 at White Oaks Memory Care in McHenry.
She was born February 24, 1942 in Marion, Indiana to Clinton and Evelyn (Tatman) Balinger.
Elaine was loved and adored by all who were lucky enough to meet her and especially by her husband, Ralph, and her children, Mark and Kate. She was fortunate to be what she always wanted, a mom who stayed at home and cared lovingly for her family. Elaine was funny, fun to be with and our best friend. She found time to volunteer in many ways to help other adults and especially children. She was a trained Court Appointed Special Advocate for young children in the court system, as well as a member of several PEO chapters, president three times and she even founded a chapter in Bend, Oregon. PEO funds education for women. She was President of the 200 member plus Welcome Wagon organization in York, PA. She and her husband also mentored several boys and girls.
She was always there when someone needed a friend.
She once said at a women’s retreat that she was blessed and had a wonderful life. Our lives have been wonderful because of her.
If you wish, please make donations to the Michael J Fox Foundation which funds Parkinson’s research and education.
Arrangements were entrusted to Justen Funeral Home & Crematory in McHenry. For information, please call the funeral home at 815-385-2400, or visit www.justenfh.com, where friends and loved ones may share memories of Elaine on her tribute wall.
