Patricia Ann “Pat” Dreyer, age 74, of Round Lake Beach, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017, at her residence, with her family by her side. She was born in Chicago, on September 13, 1943, to James and Loretta (Gernand) Hanley. On June 15, 1963, in Chicago, Pat married the love of her life, William “Bill” Dreyer.
Pat retired from her secretary position at CLC in 2001. She also was the “Debbie Cake Lady” in the 80’s, who handed out the dessert cakes during lunch at the Round Lake High School. Pat enjoyed luncheon dates with the retired Fire Dept. wives, being as Bill had retired after 14 years with the Round Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. She also shared special luncheons with her retired CLC coworkers.
Pat enjoyed the simple things in life, crossword puzzles, sunbeams, and watching birds in her front yard. Among other things, she loved traveling the countryside with her husband, Bill. They vacationed in New Orleans, Florida, and Las Vegas, most often visiting a casino or a car show. On their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Bill surprised her with a trip to Las Vegas, where she took lessons on how to operate a large excavator. Pat was a natural, at driving, digging, and even picking up basketballs with the bucket and dropping them inside tires. She loved and lived life to the fullest, and was extremely proud of her accomplishments and mostly her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, fond sister, and caring friend to many. She will always remain in their hearts.
Pat is survived by her adoring husband, Bill; her daughter, Diane (Leroy Chapman) Dreyer; two grandsons, Robert and Geoffrey Danielsen; her brother, James (the late Dee) Hanley; and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Danielsen.
