Peter S. Mackus, age 65, of McHenry, passed away Monday, October 16, 2006 at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry.
He was born April 4, 1941 in Chicago to Peter and Jeanette (Albright) Mackus. On July 1, 1967 he married June M. Couveau in Chicago.
Peter was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed as a foreman for Certified Tools in Elk Grove, and later as custodian for Wauconda School District 118 at the Robert Crown Elementary School.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and playing the guitar and drums. He had an avid interest in old cars, 50’s and 60’s music and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, June; two daughters, Lori (John) Lanphier of Wonder Lake, Lisa (Nathan) DeWitt of Chicago; two grandchildren, Christian and John.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry, Il 60050.
The funeral service will be at 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, at the funeral home. The Rev. Roger Schneider will officiate.
Inurnment will be private.
