Raymond H. Ozark, age 92, of McHenry, died May 15, 2012 at Wauconda Healthcare and Rehab.
He was born January 16, 1920 in Chicago to John and Stella Owczarek. On January 17, 1942 he married Ruth A. Mayer at St. Stanislaus Church in Chicago.
Ray was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.
He was employed for 28 years as a postal clerk at the main station in Downtown Chicago. He retired in 1978 and moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida where he lived for 33 years before moving to McHenry.
Roy was an avid golfer, loved to play cards and in his youth enjoyed tennis and bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Ruth; two children, Roy Ozark of McHenry, Ruthanne (Arthur) Ozark-Kuss of Mundelein; and a grandson, Jason (Stephanie) Kuss of San Diego, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 3 pm on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050
There will be a funeral Blessing at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be private.
