ROBERT J BYRNE 1958-2022
Robert Byrne passed away peacefully in Bull Valley, IL on May 9, 2022 with his family by his side.
Rob was born December 16, 1958 to his late parents Blanche A. Byrne (nee Haskin) and Robert J. Byrne, Sr. He is survived by his wife of nearly 28 years, Sandra A. Byrne (nee Kinsella); cherished son, Connor H. Byrne, and beloved daughter, Breannan M. Byrne.
Rob was predeceased by his brother Shaun M Byrne in 2010.
Rob was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in DesPlaines and Deer Park, IL.
Rob graduated from Barrington High School in Barrington, IL in 1976.
Rob retired on April 19, 2022 from his nearly 32-year career in the Public Works Department of the Village of Lincolnshire. During his long career, he held various positions operating equipment, snowplowing and administering CDL testing to Village employees. He ended his career as a drainage/flood expert and was highly respected by his peers and Village officials for his extensive knowledge of the storm water and drainage systems and his assistance in monitoring pollutants that enter the rivers and creeks and reporting to the EPA.
Rob and Sandra married in 1994, and they welcomed Connor into the world in 1998 followed by Breannan in 2001.
Rob was a “Papa Bear” and loved his family above all else. He was a jovial, fun person who enjoyed joking with family and friends, and he especially loved family time spent at his favorite get-away at a family cabin in northern Wisconsin. Rob was an avid cook and back-yard griller who also enjoyed watching the cooking channel on TV. He always looked forward to football season and especially cheering on his beloved Chicago Bears.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Cancer Foundation.
