Robert Lee Humphrey, age 77, of Zion died March 23, 2006 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion.
He was born September 16, 1928 in Waukegan to Stanley and Mildred (Ebert) Humphrey. He married Ruth E. Goodwin, who preceded him in death on September 7, 1994.
He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving during WWII.
Robert was a brick layer for 40 years, and was also employed as an X-Ray technician for Johnson Motors in Waukegan for 15 years.
Robert’s hobby was wood crafting, and he especially enjoyed making bird houses and nativity sets. He was an avid fisherman, and also enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, boating and water skiing.
Survivors include three children, Roberta (Eddie Powell) Humphrey of Beach Park, Sharon Humphrey of Zion, Robert Humphrey of Beach Park; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Thomas) Paglusch, Anthony (Carla) Hodgson, Heather Reed, Sheena Humphres, Jeremy (Mirah) Humphres; and thirteen great grandchildren, Marisa, Connor, Tarran, Hailee, Kaytlyn, Nathaniel, Ashton, Alexis, Monet, Taylor, Nick, Logan, Dylan; three brothers, Larry Humphrey of Waukegan, Leonard Humphrey of Decatur, Harold Humphrey of Zion; two sisters, Mildred Swanson of Zion, and Helen Rasmussen of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; and his parents.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 30, 2006 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The Rev. Lisle Kauffman will officiate.
