Robert L. “Bob” Smith age 85, of Spring Grove, IL passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Waukegan, IL on May 23, 1937, to Leo and Mable (King) Smith. He married his best friend and love of his life Rosalie Linden on May 13, 1961, at St. Mary’s Church in McHenry, IL. Bob and Rose were happily married for 55 years, raised three wonderful children and enjoyed traveling and spending time with dear friends.

Some of Bob’s favorite hobbies were fishing, golfing, traveling, hiking, snowmobiling and racquetball. He will always be remembered as kind, caring, genuine, honest, honorable and, most of all, his sense of humor. Bob’s true love is his family and spending time together making memories that they can cherish for a lifetime.

Bob is survived by his children: Chris (Diane) Smith, Brad (Kathleen) Smith; grandchildren: Samantha (Dirk) Peterson, Colin (Danielle) Quinn, Stephen (Becky) Smith, and Kane Smith; great grandchildren: Cora, Maren, Carson, Lilah, Hayden, Maverick, and Oakley; sister: Nanci (Smith) Piconny and brother Lloyd Smith.

He is preceded by loving wife: Rosalie; adoring daughter: Kimberly Quinn; parents: Leo and Mable Smith.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am – 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 21,2022 at St. Peters Church, 2118 Main St, Spring Grove IL. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Inurnment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Johnsburg, IL followed by a luncheon at The McHenry Country Club located at 820 N. John Street, McHenry, IL
