Continue ReadingRonald Larry Pelham-Motsinger, age 75, of Round Lake, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 23, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 24, 1942 in North Platte, Nebraska. Ron married the love of his life, Patricia Trelford on June 19, 1966 in Libertyville.
Ron proudly served in the U.S. Navy. With his experience as a first chair in the high school band, he joined the Navy band, and met his wife Patricia while playing in the band. Ron was a valued employee with a busy career at the Farley Candy, and later with the Jel Sert Company as the Director of Credit Operations. Ron was also a retired Fire Captain with the Village of Matteson.
Ron enjoyed river rafting, basketball, traveling, playing on a bowling league, and especially researching things on his computer. Ron was a history buff who loved watching the History Channel. His family always came first, and was most important to him, and he will forever be in their hearts.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia; three children, Sean (Mary Pat) Motsinger, Kimberly (Ray) Thompson, Wendy (Tom Smith) Motsinger; seven grandchildren, Steven, Sean Jr., Brittany, and Kayla Motsinger, Ashley (Brian) Pierce, Shelby Filarski, Griffin Filarski; six great-grandchildren, the twins, Michelle and Mackenzie James, Kaiden Baumgartner, Ryker, Loki, and Korben Pierce; his brother, William (Jackie) Motsinger; four sisters, Jill, Sue, Karen, and Karleen; and his faithful pet, Lady Avatar.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, William and Doris (Staples) Motsinger.
A memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073. The Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The cremation rite was accorded privately.
