Rosemary Slaughter, age 69, of Wonder Lake, died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. She was born November 17, 1936 in Patterson, New Jersey to Frank and Sarah (Melette) Dubinskas.
A resident of Wonder Lake for ten years, she formerly resided in Patterson, New Jersey. Most recently, she was a resident at Crystal Pines Health Care Center in Crystal Lake.
A member of Christ the King Church, she enjoyed volunteering as the bingo caller during the church bingo games. While residing at Crystal Pines, she enjoyed playing the game of bingo.
She found the services of Family Alliance in Woodstock to be invaluable to her over the past several years, and treasured the many close friendships she made with clients and the caring staff. Her family will remember how much Family Alliance meant to Rosemary, and how much personal fulfillment and happiness the organization brought to her life.
Survivors include a son, Carl (Maryann) Slaughter of Belleville, New Jersey, and a daughter, Jo Ann (Joseph) Chovanec of Wonder Lake; four grandchildren, Michael Slaughter of Belleville, Raymond, David, and Kristina Chovanec of Wonder Lake; a brother, Albert (Bridget) of Dubinskas of Florida; and two sisters, Helen (Neil) Riker of George and Barbara (the late Donald) Mann of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene F. “Gene” Slaughter; and a brother, Sonny, in childhood.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2006, at Justen’s Wonder Lake Funeral Home, 7611 W. Hancock Drive, Wonder Lake, IL 60097.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Christ the King Church, 5006 E. Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake. The Rev. Steven Sabo will officiate.
Inurnment will be in New Jersey.
