Russell E. Witt, age 64, of Round Lake Park, died Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
He was born March 27, 1951 in Pineville, Kentucky to O. B. and Sarah (Evans) Witt. On January 16, 1971, he married Joyce A. Stiener in Waukegan.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Vietnam War.
Russell was a resident of Round Lake Park for the past 32 years. For over 22 years, he was a laborer with Union Local 152, and worked on both the renovations of Soldier Field and Navy Pier. He also worked for RG Construction.
Enjoyments throughout his lifetime included playing the guitar, listening to music, riding his Harley Davidson, and building and repairing hotrods.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Joyce; three children, David (Vickie) Witt, Stephen Witt, and Missy (Mark) Krueger; five grandchildren, Shawnna Wright, Laura Witt, Samantha Witt, Savannah Krueger, Madison Krueger; a sister, Elaine Byrd; and two sisters-in-law, Robin Witt and Arlette Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Tommy.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court, Round Lake, IL 60073. The funeral service will be at 11 am Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Willow Lawn Memorial Park, Vernon Hills.
