Stan was a bright smile, friendly face, and respected professional at LHS. Stan cared about the people he worked with. He always had time for you and often asked about my kids or the work I was doing. He was genuinely interested in how you were doing. We talked a lot about family and he was always proud of his nieces and nephews. There will forever be a Stan-sized hole at LHS and in our hearts.
Loretta O'Dea left a message on June 6, 2020:
I knew Stan for 13 years while working at LHS. He was our janitor and such a dedicated and hard worker. He always took a couple of minutes to talk no matter how busy he might be. We would talk about his dogs, the Bears, volleyball at LHS and my family. He always had a smile on his face. He will be missed very much.

Stan embodied everything I love about LHS. He was such an integral part of our community, and I can't imagine what the halls will be like without him lighting them up with his smile, his sunny personality, and his attention and dedication to his work. He meant--and means--so much to LHS. He was loved, and he will be dearly missed. My sincere condolences to his family.

Stan is one of the kindest and most dedicated men that I have ever worked with, his attitude and actions always created a positive atmosphere for all who worked with him. Stan created a special place in my heart and many many others, he is missed by us all.
Ruth Vasquez left a message on May 28, 2020:
My condolences to Stan's family. I am his dept Secretary for currently almost 20 years. My last conversation with him was couple days before passing. I had called him, told him I'll be keeping in touch with him while he was off to check up on him, and would be keeping him in prayers. He really appreciated that. He will be missed. He was always ready to start work, always had a smile on his face. Never had anything negative to say about anyone. He was a good worker, no one ever complaint on the cleanliness of his work area. He always gave all the supervisors and I a treat for Christmas every year without fail. That's the kind of man he was, very giving. He was the lead custodian all these years when his supervisor was off work. He could be trusted and be relied on. He loved his job and had a lot of pride in it. Stan will be missed and never forgotten. Praying for comfort and peace for the family.

Stan was my custodian for 17 years. To say he was hard working is an understatement. He never missed a beat and never complained. He took care of things we did not even realize needed attention. I cannot believe he is gone. He was a constant for me. We had chats almost daily. I loved hearing about his cleaning tips, his dog, his family, and his favorite team the Bears. At Christmas he would always leave us a small gift and sign it from “Stanta”. To say he will be missed does not quite capture it! Goodbye my friend. LHS will never be the same.

My thoughts and prayers with his family and friends. Stan was one of the best! I knew Stan for 20 years...first as a Math teacher at Libertyville HS and then as an Athletic Director. He always had a smile on his face everyday and I enjoyed seeing him in the hallways. He will truly be missed.

Stan always went above and beyond for me and my students--busily getting us ready for Open House in just a few hours after school, bringing me articles to read about the Cubs, watering my classroom plants when I couldn't be at school, and much, much more. He was a great guy and coworker and I will miss him!

Stanley was hard not to like. I worked ate LHS at night with Stanley for the passed 12 years. He was a person you could always count on to help me resolve issues as they occurred in the School. Nothing seamed to ever slow him down. I would frequently chat with Stanley and found that we had many things in common, liking the Bears, motorcycles, etc. He will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace. Mike (Moose) Madden LHS Safety & Security

My deepest condolences to Stan’s family. I am a former LHS teacher who had the pleasure of knowing Stan at school. He was so personable and caring, asking about my family. He always kept my classroom in tip top shape and was willing to help in every way possible with extra projects. I remember Stan with great affection. He will be missed. May the Lord hold him in His loving embrace.

Stan's obituary has it correct, no one worked as steady as Stan. He brought it every day for 40 years, always going a mile a minute with a great smile and a kind word. I wasn't sure what his retirement plans were, I never asked because it seemed like he could go forever. I'm not surprised to hear that wasn't his plan. Stan was a true ambassador of good will! My condolences to Stan's family. Stan worked the world languages hall at LHS for at least the last twenty years. Stan always had to work to do, but he always took the time for a short chat about sports and all kinds of subjects. It will be very sad for me to work after school at LHS and not see Stan come in my classroom anymore. He will be missed.

To Stan’s family: I think you’ll find how important and enjoyable to know Stan was for all of us at LHS. His duties included cleaning the hallway & room that I worked out of, but he did SO much more... always greeting everyone with a friendly smile, taking the time for some conversation and helping out with special requests if need be. He was an angel on earth and now he continues in heaven! He will be sorely missed....truly...
