Steven Edward Kondracsek, age 56, of McHenry, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at Pepper Family Hospice in Barrington.
He was born October 11, 1955 in Chicago to Emil and Dorothy (Strong) Kondracsek. On May 29, 1976, he married Mary A. Chlad at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Deerfield. For the past 27 years, he resided in McHenry, where he and his wife raised their family.
He was a Territory Sales Manager for Midwest Engine Warehouse, a division of Illinois Auto Electric of Aurora.
A member of St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg, he was a devoted family man and very much enjoyed being a doting grandfather. They traveled frequently to Door County, Wisconsin, where they enjoyed the beauty of the area, often in the company of friends and family. He was an avid fan of Chicago Bears football. Steve also enjoyed the companionship of his golden retriever, Big Dog Maxx.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary; three daughters, Season (Jerry) Clark of McHenry, Sabrina (Eric) Cavanaugh of McHenry, and Stefanie (Brad) Richardson of Chatham; three grandchildren, Autumn Clark, Summer Clark, and Ayda Cavanaugh; a brother, Paul (Terry) Kondracsek of Pickerel Lake, WI; a sister, Suzie Kondracsek of Lake Villa; and many nieces and nephews and godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
The funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Church, 2302 W. Church Street, Johnsburg. Before leaving in procession for Mass at church, friends may gather at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until prayers at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Johnsburg.
