Susan C. Davidson, born Susan C. Kenton of McHenry, IL, passed on to her rewards Saturday, June 4th, at White Oaks Memory Care in McHenry, IL. Surrounded by much of her family as she took her final breath.
Born in South Bend, Indiana, to James and Mary Kenton, she was the youngest of four siblings. Around ten years old, the family moved to a home on Pistakee Bay, and she spent her days playing with her dogs and horses in the bay.
She graduated from McHenry High School in 1971 and began a lifelong adventure with her boyfriend and then-husband, William (Bill) Davidson. They married on June 10th, 1972, and had three children: Jason, Kate and Billy.
Sue was a very accomplished cook, and entertaining in her home was one of her many passions, along with gardening. She made each house she lived in a home. Sue and Bill raised and showed English Springer Spaniels for years, but eventually, her children and all their activities with them took precedence. Years of sports events found her sitting on the bleachers, cheering on her children and grandchildren.
Sue loved to travel near and far, especially with her brother, Jeff Kenton and his wife, Nancy.
Sue worked most of her life as a medical secretary at McHenry Hospital, with 40 years of assisting people, training new employees and making friends.
Sue had a strong relationship with God and attended church regularly, taught Sunday school, and volunteered at the Home of the Sparrow Thrift store for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Bill, of 50 years, her children: Jason, Kate, and Billy; her five granddaughters: Myia, Ella, Nora, Alexandra and Betty; and siblings: Jeff, Carol, and Roxane.
The family would like to thank White Oaks Memory Care and ProMedica Hospice for all the care and love during her preparations for her new life in heaven.
A Celebration of life will take place at the Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL, on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 11:00 am -1:00 pm.
