Terry Michael Miller, age 63 of McHenry passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 7, 2010, at his home in McHenry after a tough fought battle with cancer.
Terry was born February 5, 1947 in Woodstock. He was the fourth child of Earl and Mary (McKean) Miller. He grew up in Wonder Lake and attended McHenry High School, graduating in 1965. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army, after which he met his wife Madeline Carol Hess, who he married on September 30, 1972 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Wonder Lake.
He worked for over 20 years at Union Special in Huntley as an inventory analyst and most recently had been working at Silgan Plastic Company in Woodstock.
He was an active father who enjoyed coaching his son’s in little league, which he did for 15 years. In later years, he enjoyed reading, working around the house (which included his son’s house in Ohio while visiting his four grandkids), and tinkering with any gadget he could get his hands on, including fixing up all the old, beat-up cars left at his house by his other son.
Survivors include his wife Madeline of 37 years; sons, Jake of San Diego, CA, Ryan (Kate) of Centerville, OH; grandchildren, Terrance, Logan, A.J. and Samantha; a brother, Tom (Ardis) Miller; a sister, Sue (Rab) Weber; a brother-in-law, Rich (Carol) Cope; and his friend Marina Rasmusen and her children, Pete and Stephanie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Lou Cope; and his best friend, Larry Rasmusen.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
The funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, at the funeral home.
