A very kind man. The world will be a little less without him. Special thoughts for the whole family.

One of the great memories of Tom was in the Fraternity Lounge when we had to go to Economics Class at Carthage College but not before we watched the GPG or Grand Prize Game near the end of the show on WGS's Bozo's Circus just before our 1:00 pm class. The child selected that day had the opportunity to drop a ball in a line of five buckets going from easiest to hardest. Every child made at least one bucket, so no one was left out winning a prize. That speaks of Tom's legacy, no one was ever left out of his love and affection. He will be truly missed.

We met Tom and Robbie in September of 1997 and it was an instant friendship. Tom had a profound impact on my life in a very personal way (Ray). His positive attitude to his adversity was truly an inspiration. Many times, I would call him and ask "how are you today Tom?". He always said "Ray, I am great!" He loved looking out at Big St. Germain Lake and Lake Content. We loved our visits, playing cards or sharing a meal together with both Tom and Robbie. He will be dearly missed.....

Dear Hurckes Family I’m so sad to hear about Tommy’s passing! Having grown up together the memories are everywhere in my mind right now! God bless all of you! Tom will be missed by so many but his positive spirit alone teaches us all a lesson about life! I love all of you and pray for peace for each of you because I know that’s what Tom would want for each and everyone of you! Love Joannie Mac (Wonis)

You have my Deepest Sympathies. I am sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. He was one of the nicest Man i have ever meet and had the privilege to call my Friend. I truly learned a lot from Tom. The biggest thing ie when you think you have it bad there is someone that has it harder than you. I never never heard Tom complain even when he was having a rough time of it . He would smile as if nothing was wrong and than tell a joke. Tom was the BEST of the BEST and the world was a better place because he was here. Again Prayers for you ALL.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
