William E. ‘Bill’ Adlesick, age 81, of Buffalo Grove, died Friday, March 23, 2012 at Arlington Rehabilitation Center in Long Grove.
He was born June 12, 1930 in Chicago to Joseph and Anna (Klobutcher) Adlesick.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.
He was a resident of Buffalo Grove since 1959. Early in his career Bill worked as a repairman in heating and air-conditioning and delivered heat oil. He then became a police officer for the University of Illinois (U.I.C.) retiring in 1984 after fourteen years. He was a former President of the U.I.C. Police Association.
Bill had received an award of heroism at U.I.C., for an incident that happened in February of 1970, from the International Association of College and University Security Directors Police Association. Bill enjoyed the companionship of the family dogs Billy, Betsy and Z.
Survivors include his children, Greg (Sue) Adlesick, Phyllis (Gary) Borchmann, Cheryl (Scott) Deaver, Christine (the late Ron) Eggert, Diane Shanahan and Colleen Shanahan; four grandchildren, Jason and Jennifer Adlesick, Elise and Audrey Deaver; a brother, David R. Adlesick; and a sister, Geraldine (John) Buba.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy on January 17, 1986; and his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
The memorial service will be at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 26, at the funeral home.
