William E. “Bill” Koester, age 86, of McHenry died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Centegra Hospital – McHenry.
He was born November 24, 1922 in Chicago to William and Margaret (Stuer) Koester. On May 6, 1961 he married Pearl I. Tucker at First United Methodist Church in McHenry.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII.
Bill had been a resident of McHenry for 54 years. He was employed as an accountant for Chicago Bridge & Iron Work in Oak Brook for 25 years.
He was an avid fisherman, fishing frequently in Minnesota. He gathered with friends and neighbors at the V.F.W. post. and was a member of the American Legion post 491.
He is survived by his wife Pearl of 48 years; a son, Tom (Vicki) Reinhardt of Woodstock; a brother-in-law, Elmer (Dorothy) Tucker of Brooklyn, Wisconsin; and best friend, Bobbi Munson of McHenry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Bernice Koester.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, Il 60050.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, McHenry.
