William Evan ‘Bill’ Pritchard, of Johnsburg passed away peacefully Thursday, May 31, 2012.
He was born March 7th, 1932 in Chicago to John and Eleanor (Metzger) Pritchard.
He graduated from Maryville Academy in 1950. He was married to Martha (Marty) L. Keller at Mt. Carmel on May 22nd, 1954. Bill spent his entire career as a pipefitter of Union Local 597, working all over Chicagoland and Northeast Indiana on many of the landmarks that make up the skyline of the city. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg for over fifty years. His trumpet playing was featured for many years at the Christmas Eve and Easter Mass Celebrations. Bill was an avid golfer, having started the Monday Night Men’s league at Chapel Hill Golf Course. He scored a hole in one on June 17th, 1993 at the Chalet Country Club in Cary. He was a lifetime member of the Moose and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, attending church, spending winters in Florida and attending all the plays with Marty at the Marriott Lincolnshire.
Bill will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Marty, his dear children, April (Tim) Stewart of Johnsburg, Donna (Al) Seegers of Woodstock, Mike (Connie) Pritchard of Youngsville, LA, Judy (Paul) Tansey of McHenry and Mary (Pete) Wasilowski of Woodstock; grandchildren, Dawn Kiraly of Johnsburg, Shawn (Heather) Stewart of McKinney, TX, Brandon Stewart of Johnsburg, Jeremy Pritchard of Lafayette, LA, and Jessica (Jeremy) Dean of McHenry, Lindsay Meagher of Naperville, IL; great-grandchildren, Kailyn, James and Jesse Kiraly of Johnsburg, Taylor Stewart of Salem, WI, Ethan and Ella Stewart of McKinney, TX, and J.R. Dean of McHenry: his oldest brother, Ray Pritchard of Wilmette, IL; and many loving nieces, nephews and golfing buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Stan Pritchard, John ‘Denny’ Pritchard and Jim ‘Butch’ Pritchard. The visitation will be from 2:00p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3rd, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.
Visitation will resume on Monday, June 4, from 8:15 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. leaving in procession for the 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 Church St., Johnsburg, IL.
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Johnsburg.
