William F. Stastny, age 80, of Antioch, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Hillcrest Nursing Center in Round Lake Beach.
He was born November 13, 1926 in Chicago to William E. and Anna (Anderley) Stastny. On January 14, 1950 he married Geraldine Beyer, who preceded him in death in November 30, 2004.
William was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served as a gunner mate on the U.S.S. William S. Rush during WWII.
He was employed as the superintendent of Archer Manufacturing in Libertyville. He was a member of the V.F.W. of Round Lake Beach, and former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Round Lake Park.
William was a history buff who also enjoyed woodworking, old movies on Turner Movie Classics, fishing in Eagle River, reading and coin collecting. He was president of the Indian Head Coin Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Russell of Poplar Grove, Debra (Alonzo) Boulanger of Antioch; five grandchildren, Michael (Kirsten) Stastny, Charlene (Justin) Boudreau, Timothy South, Keith Boulanger, Heather Boulanger; three great grandchildren, haley, Austin, Matthew; and a sister, Claire (Ed) Hausknecht of Oglesby.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Stastny; a daughter, Joyce Bostick on Dec. 23, 1997; and his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2007 at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court (at Cedar Lake Road), Round Lake, Il. 60073.
The funeral service will be at 8 p.m. on Monday, July 2, at the funeral home. The Rev. Lisle Kauffman will officiate.
