William J. “Bill” Cheshier, age 66, of Port Barrington, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at his home.
He was born November 15, 1943 in Sterling, IL, to George William and Jane F. (Kelly) Cheshier. He married Linda Banas on Feb. 27, 1981 in Woodstock.
Bill moved to the area in1968 from Sterling. He was a systems analyst, employed at Statab in Chicago for 21 years, and later at Mey and Speh in Downers Grove for 18 years. He enjoyed retirement for a few years before becoming employed on a part-time basis at United Canvas in Antioch, where he managed the office until his recent illness.
Enjoyments included sports, especially following the Bears and the Cubs; boating on area lakes and rivers; and music of all types, especially country music.
He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Wauconda.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Linda; three sons, Matthew Cheshier of Cary, Andrew (Sylvia) Cheshier of Barrington, and Braden (Lisa) Cheshier of Round Lake; a daughter, Jennifer Lowry of Island Lake; 8 grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Eleanor (the late Ernest) Arwood of Pt. Barrington; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Sharon) Arwood of West Chicago, Chuck (Diane) Arwood of Maple Park; two sisters-in-law, April (Marc) Ericson of Union Grove, WI, and Anna Altman of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Karen Redfield Cheshier in 1978; and a brother-in-law, William Arwood.
Services and interment were private.
