William Paul French, age 48, of McHenry, died Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Centegra Hospital – McHenry.
He was born June 22, 1962 in Woodstock to Richard C. and Marilyn (Berthold) French. On May 22, 1999, he married Karen L. Smith.
A lifetime resident of McHenry, he was employed by TC Industries Inc. as a truck driver for over 30 years.
William was devoted to his family. Enjoyments included playing cards, especially poker; camping and the outdoors. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; four children, Jennifer French of Chicago, Justin (Jessica Johannes) French of Johnsburg, Andrew Smith of McHenry, William (Brook) Smith of McHenry; and two grandchildren, Adele and Eva Smith; his mother, Marilyn French of McHenry; a sister, Melissa (Richard) Kenney of Hebron; and two brothers, James (Vickie) French of Palatine and David French of Fredrick, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father on Sept. 8, 2001.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, McHenry.
