Winifred Simpson, age 76 died July 25, 2012 at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
She was born October 16, 1935 in Chenoa, Kentucky to Chester and Ada (Head) Gibson.
Formerly of Chicago, Winifred had been a resident of Round Lake for 39 years. After moving to Round Lake she ran a day care in her home. She was a lifetime auxiliary member of the Round Lake Mens Club and a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Organization. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, crocheting, quilting and canning.
She is survived by six children, Harold (Glenda) Cheek of Frederick, VA., Ada (Dave) Peterson of Round Lake, Ann Simpson of Brookfield, George (Angela) Simpson of Round Lake Beach, Elizabeth Simpson of Brandenton, FL., Susan Simpson of Round Lake Beach; seventeen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two brothers, H.C. (Patty) Gibson and Ed Wayne (Pat) Gibson.
She was preceded in death by her husband James T. Simpson in 1990; her parents; and five sisters, Lavada, Wilma, Patricia, Gertrude and Wilma.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 W. North Rosedale Court (at Cedar Lake Road), Round Lake, IL 60073.
The funeral service will be at 12 noon on Sunday, July 29, at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Avon Centre Cemetery, Grayslake.
